Adona Fastcrete Latex Bonding Agent

Enhance your construction projects with Adona Fastkrete, a water-based dispersion of high-grade acrylic latex engineered to modify Portland cement compositions. Mortar treated with Fastkrete exhibits enhanced physical strength and superior adhesion to various surfaces including old concrete, masonry, and brick. It is formulated to be mixed on-site with 2 parts Portland cement and 1 part silica sand, serving as an excellent bonding agent for both new and existing concrete. Fastkrete also improves water resistance and reduces shrinkage, ensuring durable and reliable results for your applications.

  • Covers approximately 4 to 6 square feet per kilogram at a thickness of 1.5mm.
  • Coverage may vary based on the conditions of the job site.

Surface Preparation:

The foundation for any successful floor installation begins with meticulous surface preparation. It is crucial that the surface is not only structurally sound but also smooth and completely dry. Surfaces that are glossy or painted should be thoroughly sanded and stripped to ensure they are free from waxes, dust, grease, loose material, and any other contaminants that could compromise adhesion. Use a wire brush to clean the surface and remove debris, followed by using an air compressor to blow away dust or washing with water if needed. Any oil or grease stains must be effectively removed using appropriate degreasing solvents.

For surfaces that have suffered damage, it’s important to repair them using a polymer-modified repair mortar to restore structural integrity. Concrete, bricks, blocks, or walls should be allowed to dry naturally by exposure to air for a minimum of 28 days to achieve optimal conditions for installation.

How to apply?

  • Before application, ensure the surface is dampened with water, but ensure there is no standing water present during the application.
  • After thoroughly cleaning the surface, mix 1 part of ADHCOAT WATERGUARD with 2 parts of Portland cement. Shake the liquid component well until it achieves a homogeneous milky colour. Transfer the entire liquid into a clean mixing vessel, then gradually add the powder component while constantly stirring with a pneumatic or electric power tool (1kW) at a slow speed of 250-300 rpm. Mix for 3-5 minutes until a uniform, free-flowing slurry is obtained.
  • Apply the mixed components using a bristle brush onto the substrate.
  • Once the primer coat becomes tacky, proceed to lay the polymer-modified cement mortar.
  • General construction works.
  • Restoration of precast structural components.
  • Enhancing bonding between old and new concrete.
  • Strengthening repair mortar formulations.
  • Establishes permanent, positive chemical and mechanical bonds with sound surfaces.
  • Enhances the compressive, tensile, flexural, and bond strengths of cement or mortar mixes.
  • Minimises water penetration and shrinkage.
  • Suitable for both internal and external applications.

Available in 500 millilitres, 1 litre, 5 litres and 20 litres.
